just what I was looking for

I've been doing hair professionally for 7 years, and got this book to better understand all of the chemistry involved. And that's exactly what I got from this book. A nice review of all the stuff I learned in beauty school plus some more in depth information. Goes over what the hair is made of and what chemical changes take place in the hair to make services like coloring and perming possible. Tells you what chemicals make up each product and how they work with the hair. Also lists a lot of common ingredients used in hair products like shampoos and conditioners and what each one is used for. I feel more confident in my understanding of each chemical used for my job.

Me encantó este libro! Muestra el punto de vista de las mujeres en la segunda guerra mundial, como la vivieron y los diferentes roles que cada uno decidió jugar. Está muy bien escrito, refleja muy bien el deterioro físico, emocional que van sufriendo las protagonistas conforme pasa el tiempo, y a la vez cómo se transforman, se endurecen mientras luchan por sobrevivir. Vale la pena, muy recomendable.

No conocía a la autora y tampoco se porqué lo escogí,el azar me hizo encontrarme con este libro que me ha emocionado hasta lo más profundo,me ha hecho sufrir y vivir como si hubiera estado cerca de esas valientes mujeres,puede ser ficción pero esto y segura que hay mucho de realidad ,seguro que hubo mujeres como Isabelle y Vianne y para ellas va un homenaje de mi parte.

Por mucho que leamos sobre la tragedia que significó la segunda guerra de mundial, no dejan de sorprendernos las atrocidades que allí se cometieron, del grado de cevicia con que puede actuar el ser humano, sin embargo también nos encontramos con historias como la que nos relata de brillante manera este libro, sobre la valentía, el coraje y la determinación con que lucharon estas mujeres para Salvar la vida de tantas personas a riesgo de la propia. Un libro realmente muy bien escrito, que nos aproxima a lo que fue está espantosa tragedia.

Too many errors for an established teaching tool

We had to purchase this and other Prep U codes for our RN program. All of them have mistakes. Granted, not a lot of mistakes but too many for a teaching program. I am in my second semester and I have found at least 20 mistakes so far. Our teachers say to let them know and they will notify LWW but it isn't my job to do their editing. Mistakes are things like marking the answer as incorrect and then in the explanation contradicting that (most common); typos in the questions and answers; part of the question listed as an answer and one answer split into 2 answers ( i.e. the answer to a) the question is: b) five c) sev d) en e) nine). All in all, it is frustrating to use at times but the abiltiy to learn is there.

Helped me pass med surg!

This is a wonderful product for anyone interested in nursing. I can definitely say this product helped me pass my med surg class without a doubt. It gives you different questions to answer that correlate with the different chapters of the book. Its great because you can choose which chapters you want to work on and how many questions you want to answer so you can do a quick review or spend hours practicing. It also keeps track of your questions so you even know which ones are your weakest sections. For those of you who know nursing questions… this is a great way to practice them!

This product was required for school. Best price I was able to find for this product and arrived same day! It helps prep for exams and the website is easy to use. I am giving 3 stars only because it is so expensive and I only use it to take practice quizzes (other features don't seem to be as helpful for me).

Schuyler M. Moore is a partner in the Corporate Entertainment Department at the Los Angeles office of the national law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. He was the founding Chairman of the Entertainment Tax Subsection of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Taxation Section. Mr. Moore holds undergraduate and law degrees from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he was first in his law class. This sweet story of a brother who loses his favorite toy and the older sister who redeems it for him by giving up a brand new, shiny, bigger and better toy, with no prompting from an adult, but just because she loves her brother, should be a must-read for every multi-child family. We love this warm, gentle story. It's one of the books I will make sure each of my children has available to read to my grandchildren.

An oldie but a goodie

First off, if you're interested in this book, please read the description (or even just the title) before you buy it and complain about it.

This is a handbook for cleaners, not a guide for starting a business or staying on top of the latest products. It's a very good and timeless guide to the "whys" and the "hows" of cleaning for a living. It's also bursting with enthusiasm and professional pride, two qualities that cleaners and the people who hire them overlook to their own peril.

The book also has lots of advice about how cleaners should look and handle themselves on the job. Much of it is basic (helpful to the less socially adept of us), but there are quite a few pro tips. The one that first comes to mind is his warning that asking clients how the place looks after it's done is "cleaning suicide." He explains why that's true and how to handle post-cleanup conversations.

A really good guide to working as a professional cleaner, whether you're doing it temporarily to get by or know right off that it's something you want to make a career out of.

Not only did this book give information on how/what to clean but, how to set standards for yourself, how to take pride in your work, what is expected of you as an employee or as an employer. This book has a lot of great information on how to grow in the profession of cleaning including what you need to consider when starting your own cleaning business. This book is not designed for someone who just wants to clean houses - it is designed for primarily for business'. This book is an easy read and done with a touch of humour.

I was anxious when I ordered because I knew I was ordering a little on the late side. I wasn't sure if I would receive my book before class began. But, Pearson did it! The book came right on time and I didn't miss a beat in my class assignments. Oh, and the price was the best I found.

Bait & Switch!

The book pictured here is not the book I received. The title was the same but it is a different edition. I specifically typed in the IBN for the book I needed and this is not the book I ordered. Very disappointed that now I have to buy another book for my class because this not the correct one.
